Work, family and other civic commitments keep me very busy, as a YR do I have to commit to a certain amount of time each year / month?

Young people are busy, and on the go, and as a result, all CCYR activities are completely voluntary. In fact, CCYR members are encouraged to be well-rounded and engaged in many facets of the community and personal interest.

I want to make a difference through politics, but I’m not sure which Party most closely matches my beliefs. What do Republicans believe?

CCYR serves as a welcome wagon for young people looking to take their first steps into political territory. Our organization consists of open-minded individuals who are enthusiastic about helping young people get engaged in the community and political process. In 2008, Champaign County Republican Central Committee adopted a Platform that outlines the focus and core values of our local Party. YR Happy Hours and Lunch Clubs present a great opportunity to discuss how your values align with those in the Platform.

I am interested in working on a political campaign. Can YRs help me get involved with a local campaign?

Absolutely! We are happy to help interested persons get matched up with candidates and campaigns, where they can learn grassroots campaign and leadership skills.
